How will joining a sorority affect my cinema studies?

I'm applying to USC for film school and I'm really interested in the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Do you think that joining the sorority will take away too much out of my film studies or will it only enhance my college experience? I've never beent his far from home before (east coast) and I have no idea what to do. I thought maybe a sorority would help in making me feel more welcome? Thanks!
